Wonder one?

On our way home from Rexburg last night, Avery was the only one awake, which is pretty normal as she likes to watch out the window and sing songs. So the whole way home, she is singing Twinkle Twinkle, Bob the builder, ABC's and making up her own songs. Madi and her both do this a lot. It's really cute.

As we turn into our neighborhood, Avery sees all the Christmas lights and says, "Wow, these are beautiful. That's so pettie (pretty)" Each house that we pass with Christmas lights on it she calls out, "There's a WONDER one!... There's a WONDER one!" (another one)

All Dogs Go to Heaven

Last night we were reading scriptures with the girls, and right before hand, Avery had been pretending to be a dog. When we read scriptures with them, we'll read a small bit and then they repeat it. It was Avery's turn first to read, so I read, "And it came to pass..." and waited for Avery to repeat it. Instead, she said "Ruff Ruff ruff ruff ruff" with the same intonation I had given the actual words. After cracking up, Christy and I told Avery that she had to pretend to be a human again when we read the scriptures.

Boys vs. Girls

Last weekend my parents watched our kids and my brothers little boy, Colton, while Ryan and I and my brother, Adam and his wife, Genn took off to Boise to watch the Boise State game. While we were gone, Colton used the potty and took off all his clothes to do so, well Madi was very intrigued I guess you could say with a part of Colton. She told grandma, "I don't look like that!" My mom said, "No, you don't" as she was trying to block Madi's view from Colton going potty. Madi then said something like, "Yep, I don't look like that. I'm a girl and he's a boy. He's different. "

Tuesday, November 17, 2009

Yesterday, I was in the kitchen making a sandwich for the girls and I reached up to grab something, and a box of raisins fell and hit the floor.

Madi: "Uh, oh. I bet THAT was embarrassing!"

Friday, November 6, 2009

Avery was at the table coloring when she noticed the left over Halloween candy on the counter. She started winning and saying that she wanted candy. I just listened to her not saying a word, because I wanted her to ask nicely for it. She stops, looks at me and says, "Mom, please. I NEEEED candy!"

Me- Oh you do, do you? LOL.

Ahh, Man!

Yesterday Avery came running over to me pointing to her bum and said, "Uh oh. I did a poo poo in my pants! (Long pause) Ahh, Man!"

That's been her new phrase the past two weeks. Whenever she does something wrong or drops something, it's always, "Ahh, Man!" It's so funny.

Yucky boys

This morning, I was doing my homework on the computer when Madi came downstairs and sat on my lap. I started asking her about school, and she told me about her best friends Maia and Yubin. I then asked her about her friends Logan and Jeramiah. I said, "they're boys, eww. Boys are yucky." But then she looked at me seriously and stated, "Daddy, boys aren't food. They're not yucky." I stand corrected.

The Mustache Conversation

Madi and I were eating breakfast together the other morning, when out of the blue she asks, "Daddy, what's a mustache?"

I replied, pointing to my upper lip "a mustache is when a guy (or girl on occasion) has whiskers here on their face. I then continued: "When a boy has hair around his lips and on his chin, that's called a goatee. And when he's got hair all the way around his jaw and on his neck, that's a beard."

Madi looked at me for a minute, and then suddenly, as if a lightbulb had just popped on, she confidently stated, "So that's why you don't have any hair on top of your head!"

"Um, yeah, Madi. It all migrated south..."

This afternoon I was in the mood to go shopping but of course being on a limited budget I thought the D.I. would be fun to scope out. So while Ryan and my brother, Randy were playing the Wii and watching the kids, I got ready to leave, as I was walking out the door, Avery was crying and wanted to go. So I took her with me. Avery and I found some great things actually. A few pants for Madi and two jackets and a coat! Well before I went to check out I went the fitting rooms to try the stuff on. As I was lifting Avery out of the cart, I noticed she had peed everywhere! It was down her legs and all over the shopping cart. Ugh! I asked one of the workers if she had any cleaning stuff to clean the cart, then Avery and I proceeded to try on the clothes real quick. As I was trying on this skirt Avery tooted really loud and then yelled, "Mom! I tooted!"

Me: Shhh! Ok, ok. Just be quiet, ok?

She tooted loudly a second time and again yelled, "Mom, I tooted!" All with a big grin across her face.

What a silly kid!

Bus Ride

On Thursday I got to ride the school bus to school with Madi. She did ok the first day but I thought I would ride with her the next day so she wouldn't be so scared. So I had Ryan's aunt Wendy come over to watch Avery and Emily. On the bus this little girl sitting in front of us was crying pretty hard. Madi and I had a conversation about it and it went something like this....

Madi: Mom, is that little girl sad?

Me: Yeah, she will be ok, I think. She's probably just scared.

Madi: Maybe she is scared of the big bus. Or maybe she wants her mommy too?

Me: Yeah. Maybe she is scared of the bus and misses her mommy. Maybe we could help her?

Madi: Yeah. We could. I am not scared Mom. Avery is scared of the bus. She is little and I am big so I am not scared.

Me: Yeah, you are so brave.

Avery walks into the room and looks at Emily and says, "Hi baby. How you doing?"

Toast

After Madi's first day of school I asked her what her favorite part of the day was...
She replied, "The toast! It was so good."

haha!

Silly Head

The other night after Grandpa Hodges left to go back home to Colorado, I was telling Avery that she is so lucky to have three Grandpa's that love her. Well she must have thought that I was telling her that there were three grandpa's at our house, because she turned to me and said, "No, Mom. One grandpa. Silly Head!"

What? Did my child just call me a silly head?

Nacho is Grandpa?

For some family time tonight we wanted to watch a movie together. So we were all trying to decide what movie to watch and looking through all our videos. When Avery yells out, "Grandpa Newman!"
Ryan looks down to what she was pointing at and saw she was pointing at "Nacho Libre" with Nacho on the side.

It must have been the mustache...

I asked Avery, "Where is Grandpa?"
Avery pauses then yells, "At hoooommmeee!"

Bye-bye Bus

Tonight as we were leaving to go over to Ryan's aunt and uncle's place to watch the first BSU game of the season, I told Avery to go find her shoes so we can go. After about five minutes she came back and had her shoes on and said, "Yuk (look)Mom! I found them!"

Me: "Good job Avery. We need to leave soon."

Avery wonders off and I can hear her in the living room telling all her toys, "Bye-bye bus. I wuv (love) you. Bye-bye bear. I wuv you. Bye-bye bus. I wuv you. Bye-bye baby. I wuv you. Bye-bye bus. I wuv you."

Either she likes her toy bus the best, or she just kept forgetting she already said goodbye to it several times already!

Shoes

I told Avery and Madi to go get on their shoes because we needed to leave. Avery comes running over with her shoes on and says, "Yuk (look) Mom! I did it! YAY!"

She was so proud of herself.

Face Mask

So since Emily is home and we can't take her out in public much, Ryan and I switch off going to church every week. This last week Ryan took the girls to church while I stayed home with Emily. That morning I for some reason decided to put on a facial mask because my face was breaking out. So I put on this white mask stuff that gets hard after a while and that you leave on for 20 minutes or so. Well I forgot I even had it on, and as I was getting the girls ready for church Avery comes into the bathroom so I can get her hair done.

She looks up at me and says, "Yuck Mom! Yuk (look) at face mom! HAHAHAHAHA!"

I must have looked pretty funny to her, as she was laughing at me. It was pretty cute!

Best Friends with Chocolate Milk

Madi and Avery love to play outside together. However Avery wanted to come inside the house after awhile and Madi started bawling. I mean bawling!

Ryan: "What's wrong Madi?"

Madi: "I want my best friend to play with me and she is going inside."

Ryan: "Avery, why don't you go play with Madi?"

Avery: Runs over and grabs Ryan's leg, looks up and says, "Chocolate milk pease!"

Ryan gives both girls chocolate milk and they are best friends again.

Sunday, July 26, 2009

This morning both girls climbed into bed with us. They were squirming all over the place and jumping on us when all of a sudden we hear this loud toot. Followed by complete silence as both girls froze then a few seconds later bust up laughing. Madi yells, "Avery tooted!" Avery then yells, "I TOOTED!" More laughing.

What a great way to wake up on a Sunday morning, eh?

Cereal Drama

The other morning Avery asked for some cereal. I gave her a choice as to which cereal. Well apparently after giving her the cereal with milk and placing it in front of her she changed her mind. I told her no, that she had to eat the cereal that I had poured. Oh boy did that send her into a screaming fit. (She is almost two and those temper tantrums have already started!) I walked away and left her crying at the table. (terrible mom, huh?) After about ten miuntes she stopped crying realizing that wasn't going to get her anything and came into the bedroom where I was cleaning up. She slowly walked over to me and reached out to give me a hug. I got down on my knees and gave her one. We talked and then she left the room. Five minutes later I go into the kitchen, not knowing where she went and found her sitting up in her chair eating her cereal. It just made me laugh and I thought what a good kid....most of the time.

Gassy

Madi and Avery were staying at my parents this weekend while Ryan and I were down in Utah visiting Emily. My mom asked Madi if she needed to go potty after getting up the next morning, which Madi replied, "No, I don't need to go potty. I just have a little bit of gas."
I don't know where she picked that up from...honest!

Monday, July 13, 2009

"Messy baby!"

There's this book that we have that Avery just loves. Everytime we read together she brings me this book. It's a really simple book that shows babies on each page doing different things. For example: babies eating, babies sleepy, babies silly, babies messy. Now everytime Avery is messy, she runs to the bathroom mirror points at her face and yells, "Messy baby!" and laughs at herself. It's pretty darn cute.

Silly Punk!

Usually before bedtime, we give the kids a snack. Sometimes healthy snacks, sometimes well, not so healthy. Tonight I gave them two oreo cookies each, with a cup of milk. Avery digged right in and got cookie all over her face. And this is exactly what Madi had to say about it:

"Hey Avery! Your face looks like dirty! You silly punk!!"
I busted up laughing so hard.

Embarrassing Booger

The other morning Madi came downstairs and announced to Ryan, "I had a booger on my nose and I was so embarrassed!"

Wednesday, June 24, 2009

Night night baby!

Avery. Oh Avery. What do we do with you?
Avery constantly cracks us up with her funny/cute facial expressions. She is starting to talk so muh and her little voice just melts my heart. Everytime I lay her down for her nap, I tell her, "night night, baby." Which she responds, "Nigh nigh baby!" Then I say, "I love youuuuu!" And again she responds, "I love youuuuuu toooooo, ooooo!"

Chips

For lunch today I made the girls a P&J sandwich. I bought some ranch chips and dip the day before(which I never do, I ususally just by tortilla chips) so I told the girls if they ate all their sandwich they could have some chips. Most kids love chips! Well, as I was eating a few chips with the dip I asked Madi if she would like to try it. I put it up to her mouth and she immediately backed away saying, "I have to eat my sandwich first, remember mom, that's what you said."
Me: "Oh, yeah. Good job Madi."
Wow! What an OBEDIENT child I have!! haha.

Toot Toot!

Why is it everytime after bathtime, kids like to run around the house naked? OR is it just my girls?
Tonight while Ryan was getting the girls out of the tub, Madi, shall we say, "passed gas". Then Madisen and Avery took off running around the house naked, a bathtime ritual. Here comes a "Toot-Toot" Train! Haha! Get it?
Yeah. Me neither.

Mini Body Builder

Madisen wakes up every morning around the same time. This morning I heard her coming down the stairs and then comes running into our room.

"Mom! Avery needs a drink of water, because it will help her grow strong like this..." She then puts both arms up and flexes like a body builder.

Where do kids come up with this stuff?

Dad, where's your hair?

I was playing with Madi in the living room as we were supposed to be getting ready for church. I told her "we gotta do our hair now," to which she replied, "Dad, your hair is all gone. You better go find it."

I tried to explain that my hair wasn't lost, it was just gone forever, but she told me, "you gotta get some more. Just go get some."

If only things were that easy...

Goofy Girl

We ate dinner, and wanted to start cleaning up to have family home evening and scripture study before Ryan had to rush off to study. We were waiting on Avery to finish. Avery kept saying she was "done" eating, but everytime we went to take it away or ask her if she was done, she would shake her head and say "No." . We would say ok, eat your food then. She would just sit there for a minute and then yell out, "Done!" So we again, tried to take her food and ask her if she was all done and she would again shake her head and say, "No." Well this went on several times (probably a dozen at least!) All of a sudden she starts laughing and making these ridiculous faces at us...she was playing us the entire time! What a GOOF- BALL!!!
I just got done giving Ryan a hair cut andafterwards Ryan always trims his goatee himself. Well he was bent over the trash can in the kitchen shaving his goatee, when Avery walks up, tilts her head to look up at him and says, "whad you doin' dAAAd?!"

It was funny and cute!
I guess it was one of those times where you, "had to be there" ! haha!

Ethan and Emily

After we were done visiting with Emily at the hospital on Saturday we started making the long (2 1/2 hours) drive back home and we had this conversation with Madi.

Madi: "I thought we were going to the hos-pit-tapal?"

Me: "We were just at the HOS-PI-TAL Madi. Mommy went to visit Emily. Emily is still very small and she can't come home yet. Someday you will get to meet Emily, ok?"

Madi: "Yaaaa....well, Emily is at the hos-pit-tapal and I want to see her."

Me: "Maybe next time you can. And do you remember mommy telling you about Ethan? Remember I had two babies, but Ethan went back to Heavenly Father....Ethan passed away, Madi."

Madi: "Yeah, Jesus has Ethan now. And Ethan is with Heavenly Father too, in Heaven."

Me and Ryan: "Yes, Ethan is in Heaven with Heavenly Father and Jesus. But he will always be your brother and will always be in our family."

Madi: Pondering for a while.... "Yaaaa, Ethan is with Jesus Mom."

Hogle Zoo

On Saturday we went to Hogle Zoo in Salt Lake with Ryan's mom and Bob. The girls had a blast hanging out with Grandpa and Grandma Graf and seeing all the animals. Madisen especially liked the zebras and reminded us all of "Marty" from the movie, Madagasscar. There was actually a special place where you could see all the animals from the country, Madagascar. After seeing all those animals Madi said, "That was incredible!"

Acts of Love

Today the girls were playing outside with some friends, and Avery bifted it by the sandbox. She started crying and from the kitchen window I asked Madi to go and help her up. Madi runs over, asks Avery if she is ok, and then TRIES to help Avery up. I yell from the window, "It's ok, your ok. Go play!"
Avery takes a few seconds and realizes, that yeah, she's ok. Then they both head over to the play house together. Inside the playhouse Avery reaches out and gives Madi a nice hug. Avery then goes and sits down on one of the benches in the playhouse. Madi goes over to her and puts her hands on Avery's face and gives her a BIG kiss! I was like, ahhhhhhh how cute is that! Avery gets up again, reaches out to Madi and they both embrace in a big hug!
I just thought that was the sweetest thing! A mom's greatest joy!

Running errands

I was running some errands the other morning and Madi says to me, "Mom, can Avery go too, because she is my friend."
Me: "Yes, Madi Avery is coming with us too."
Madi: "Yeah, because I liked to play together with Avery and laugh together with Avery."

Boogers

Madi talking to Ryan and I the other day:
Madi: "Mom, I had a booger with my nose. Dad, do you have a booger in your nose?"

Silly Madi

*While Ryan and I were in Utah visiting Emily, the girls were with my parents in Rexburg for the weekend. The girls went to church with my parents and in scarament meeting, an older gentlemen with parkinson's disease was giving a talk. My mom said he was shaking pretty bad, as is expected with that disease. Well Madi turns to my mom and says, "That man is cold! Why is that man so cold? He needs a blanket."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
*My dad was having a conversation with Madi this weekend and they were talking about things that were tiny and small. They both would take turns listing things that were tiny. Madi says to my dad, "My daddy's hairs are tiny."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
*On the way home today from picking up the girls and hanging out with my family for memorial weekend, Madi says, "Dad, you are strong cuz like you put up (lifted) the biggest bicycle!"
Me: "Yeah, Daddy is really strong! He can lift a lot of heavy things huh?"
Madi: "Dad, you are the strongest. You put up that bike and it was the heaviest."
Me: "Who is stronger, Mommy or Daddy?"
Madi "Daddy is the strongest."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ryan sure liked that! We just chuckled. What a cute kid!
::HUGS::
I know I have said this before, but Avery is such a cuddle bug! She is always giving hugs. This moring,(after Madi's caterpillar episode) Ryan got up with the girls and feed them, so I could sleep in. (I have been pumping a few times in the middle of the night ever since the twins were born so I am usually wiped out by morning!) Anyway, when I finally did get out of bed and walked into the living room, Avery sees me and yells, "Mommy!" She makes a quick dash over to me giving me the best HUG ever! I love my girls' hugs! Sure makes waking up in the morning fun!
A case of Caterpillars
Ryan and I heard Madisen come downstairs this morning, but instead of coming into our room and asking for breakfast or to watch morning cartoons like she normally does, we hear her in the bathroom running the water. I call out to her, "Madi, what are you doing?"
"I have to brush my teeth, because there is a caterpillar in my mouth!"
~~~
Oops. My bad. I sometimes tell her when we are brushing her teeth that we have to get all the bugs out!

WHITE shirt and Chocolate milk

I had a friend come over today and bring Madi a B-Day present. Madi got some dinosaur cards, some bows and a cute, NEW, WHITE shirt. Well after dinner Avery had spilled some chocolate milk on the ground and I didn't notice until I saw her mopping it up with Madi's new WHITE birthday shirt! Ahhhh! I said, "No, no Avery. Stop!"
After I washed the shirt in the sink to make sure it wasn't going to stain, I came into the living room and Avery was standing with her nose in the corner in time out! HAHA!!! I never told her to go to time out, but she decided to put herself in anyway!
I guess I should be grateful that Avery has learned two things:
1. She TRIES to clean up after her messes.
2. She knows where the "time out" is and stays put.

Avery's little game

Avery is such a goof ball. She is always yelling, "Mama!" (or "Dada!") Then we say, "What?" This then turns into a game and we repeat this over and over again with each other and each time she gives this cheesy grin like she is doing something brillantly funny.

It's actually quite hilarious. I am sure one day I am going to be wishing I never told her my name...

Pajamas aren't clothes?

Last night we were watching the "Bee" movie. The movie was almost over so I was getting the girls in the Pajamas for the night. Well Madi says to me, "Mom, I can't watch the movie in my Pajamas! I need my clothes on to watch it."

Umm...last I checked, Pajamas were clothes.

Apples

Madi was watching cartoons this morning for awhile because I had some friends over and after they left Madi came up to me and said, "Mom, may I have an apple please, so I can grow big? Cuz if you eat apples you will grow bigger!"
I told her I dont want her to grow too big...
Then she said, "Maybe just give me a small apple then?"
(She must have learned that from one of the cartoon shows today, to eat apples to grow.)

Grandma Glasses

I heard Madi and Avery laughing really hard downstairs so I went down to see what they were up to. Madi had put Mr. Potato Head glasses on Avery's face and said, " Haha! Avery looks like grandma!!"
(I don't know... but it sounded like she was dissing* on grandma to me! )

More "People"

This morning Madi walks into the kitchen while Ryan and I were busy making breakfast together. Ryan and I could tell something was wrong. She had her head down and a very VERY sad face to go with it.

Me: "What's wrong Madi?"

Madi: "Well...no one will play with me. I need more people to play with me."

Ryan: "Mommy is having two more babies soon and then there will be more friends to play with."

Madi: "Well... (heavy sad sigh) I have no people to play with me upstairs."

(I don't know where all this "people" stuff came from. But it sure makes us laugh!)

Talking up a storm!

We had some good friends of ours, Alan and Cristi and their two little girls Emma and Brooke, stay with us last weekend, and ever since they came, Madisen has been talking up a storm! Those that know Madi, know that she is a little shy and resevered. Well wow, I don't know what's gotten into her lately, but she has been talking a lot, and trying new sentences out. Emma and Brooke, are very outgoing and talk and laugh a lot. Emma is always curious about things and Brooke has such a fun personality. So for Madi to be around them I think it helped her come out of her shell somewhat. Which is GREAT!! That's exactly what Madi needed.

Here's just a conversation we had yesterday that I wrote down...but there have been many just like it, all of them just crack me up!
Madi: "Mom, I am getting my muscles harder to kick the ball!"
Me: "Oh, you are strengthening you muscles and making them stronger."
Madi: "Yes, to work a little harder my muscles will grow."

Here's a picture of the Lindsay Family! We love you guys!

Laughing too Hard

Before bedtime everynight Ryan(when he is home) and I chase the girls around their room while they laugh and get their wiggles out. Tonight however, Ryan had lots of homework so I took the girls upstairs to get them ready for bed and while they were running around the room all of a sudden Madi stops and looks at me with BIG eyes and says...
"I was laughing and the pee came out of me. My underware got wet because it was silly, Mom."

Apparently she was laughing too hard.

(I am sad to say she gets that from my side of the family, as my mom and every aunt and grandma on that side of the family has had bladder problems and/or surgery to have it put back "in place", sort of speak).

Bib Drama

Tonight I was craving chocolate cake, so after a yummy (healthy)dinner of grilled salmon, baked potatoes, salad and rolls I thought I can have cake...right? OF course!

Well Madi was still wearing her dress from church and I didn't want her to get cake all over it and I was just too lazy at the moment to take it off and get something else on her, so we put a bib on her. Well she hates bibs. She tells me, "I am not a baby. Bibs are for Avery..."

"Yes, Madi you are not a baby, but it's just in case you spill on your dress."

Eventually she got over it and ate her cake...or at least I thought. Ryan and I were in the middle of watching Home Make Over Edition, so we ate fast and then took our places on the couch to continue and watch while the girls finished their cakes.

Madi comes in a few moments later... "I am done eating my cake."

Ok, I say.

Madi dramatically replies, "And I quickly took that bib off me! ugh!"

(I had no idea that a bib would cause so much emotional turmoil).

Song writer/ singer

Madi loves to sing to herself and I am constantly chuckling to myself as I listen in on her singing- her made up songs. I was on the computer and she started singing and making up a new song, so I thought I would type exactly what she is saying from the other room. This is her song:

"Oh, I love my sister. *He is a baby...my sister. Your mommy and your sister, oh I love my mommy and my sister...bump bump da da da, oh my sister.... Your brothers and your sisters, me and you-hey!"

So there was a glimpse of her song! Such a funny girl!

Too BIG for a diaper!

Madi looking at the back of the movie, Nacho Libre and pointing to the boy in stretchy pants: "Mom, is this guy wearing a diaper? He is too big for a diaper!"
*Ryan and Madi were chasing each other around the house, but after awhile Madi didn't want daddy to be a dinosaur, so she stopped and said, "No Dad. Just be like a people and run like this, like a people, not a dinosaur."

*"I am scratching my head mom, cuz it's scratchy."

Our Hugger!

Avery is our hugger. You hold out your hands and she is running for them before you can even ask for a hug! This past week, she has made Ryan and I laugh with her spur of the moment hugging sessions. She will hug me, then run down the hall - hug Madi, go off to find Daddy and hug him, then start all over again by running and finding me again to hug. She will continue this for sometime, and it makes us all laugh!

Silly Face

Sunday morning Ryan and I decided to try and sleep in so we feed the girls breakfast and put a movie on and climbed back in bed. About ten minutes later Madi comes into the room followed by Avery and says, "Mom, I'm a big girl and Avery is just a baby. And I don't make silly faces like Avery."
Me: "Umm, ok Madi." (??)

Madi: "See? She has a silly face!"

I look over the bed at Avery and she is smiling with chocolate covered all over her mouth and face! Where'd she get the chocolate?! No wonder Madi said she is a big girl and doesn't make silly faces like Avery!

Riding out on the Range

Madi and I (Ryan) were playing with her little stick horses the other day, when I pretended to crash into the oven on my horse. She ran over to me and exclaimed, "Daddy, just tell the truth and you will be proud of yourself!" And with that, she proceeded to ride off into the other room, as if what she had said cleared it all up for me. Thanks, Madi. I'll keep that in mind next time I crash on the horse.

Brown Bear, Brown Bear...

You know that classic book, "Brown Bear, Brown bear, What do you see? I see a Red Bird looking at me. Red Bird, Red Bird, What do you see? I see a...." and it continues on this way through out the book.

Avery loves books and is constantly bringing me books to read to her and sitting on my lap. This one is her favorite! The other day I was putting on my "face" and she came marching in the room holding this book. She sat down and proceeded to read it to me:

Avery: Brown Bear page- "Rarrrr, Rarrrr, Rarrrr"(deep raspy voice)
Red Bird page- "Twit, Twit, Twit"-meaning "tweet" (while signing "bird" in sign language)
Yello Duck page- "Cack, Cack, Cack"-meaning "quack" (while signing "duck" in sign language)
Blue Horse page- "Heeee, Heeee!"
Green Frog page- Stares at me confused. I tell her that's a Green Frog- "Rib-bit" She tries, "bit"
Purple Cat page- "Meeeoooo"
White Dog page- " Ruff, Ruff," (while patting her leg, sign for "dog")
Black Sheep page- "Baaaaaaaa"
Goldfish page- smacks her lips together as if imitating a fish
Teacher page- "Hi"
Children page- looks up at me and laughs with her cute Avery grin!

I was in awe after she did this, because not only did she know almost each one, but how cute she was doing it with the signing and the noises of each animal, all with her cute little smile!

Calm down

Last week Madi was having a pretty rough, boring, no good day. She just needed to get out of the house. I was feeling frustrated with her whining all day and kept telling her she needed to calm down. When Ryan got home from school I told him I wanted to take Madi out for some ice cream after dinner.

After dinner Madi was still upset and continued to whine.

Me: "How about we go out and get some ice cream together! How does that sound?"

Madi: "Ok!"

Me: "But first, I need you to change your attitude and be happy before we can go. Can you do that?"

Madi: "Yes, but first, I need a minute to calm down, ok?!" (*Heavy breathing in and out several times.)

Why I started this new blog...

My friend, Cristi, has a blog that records what her girls say and do, and I thought what a GREAT idea! So I am stealing this idea also! (-Thanks Cristi!) I love hearing stories of what I did or said when I was little but of course my mom and dad don't remember everything as it wasn't all recorded. Well, I thought I would try and simply write things down about the cute things my kids say and do. I don't want to forget these things! It will be fun to look back and remember the funny things they said and did when they get older.
